If you own property in Los Angeles County, the Second installment of your property tax was due February 1st. Today is February 14 and you are probably wondering why I am notifying you NOW. Many of us missed this date and I want to remind you that you can pay your Los Angeles property taxes without penalty until April 10.

To check the status of your taxes, go to: http://www.lacountyassessor.com/extranet/datamaps/pais.aspx
Scroll down to Proprietary Information and click Accept.

You can search by address or by "AIN" (Assessor's ID Number) which is the number unique to your property (also know as APN or Assessor's Parcel Number).

If you do not know this number, just contact me and I'll be happy to look it up for you.

After you run the search, your "AIN" (Assessor's ID Number) will appear in red. 

Click on that number to see your property detail.

Scroll down to and click on  Click Here for 2007 Annual Taxes (The site has not yet been updated, but if you follow these steps, you will see 2008 taxes!).

On the next screen, enter your AIN (again) and select Search.
This next screen will give you the status and amount due of your property taxes.

2nd                        February 1          April 10 

*If December 10th or April 10th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a legal holiday, the delinquency date is the next business day.
