Home price appreciation is based on month-over-month percentage change of the Home Price Index. The Home Price Index is calculated from home sales records.

The number of bank-owned properties increased from 2,134 to 2,857 in March. Pre-foreclosure acitivity jumped from 6,567 properties to 6,663. The number of auctions also increased from 5,979 to 8,667.
